Ok. So most of us bourbon fans NEVER got to taste the mythical Pappy's.
Honestly...what's the verdict?
Btw..
Of all the loftier whiskey's , this one strikes a chord with me...
Pappy is... or should I say was, a heavily wheated bourbon, this means it was sweeter and more mellow. It was produced at the now closed Stitzel - Wellar distillery. I actually have 4 bottles of the last stuff made in that distillery. The Jefferson Select 17.
Now Pappy is made to spec and has been for years. I think the older ones are way to oaked, the younger ones that you can get now are stronger.
For the record, those Jefferson selects I purchased for 60 dollars, and are worth over 5k now. It is amazing, and the best American whisky I have ever had. Jefferson released alot of other whiskies, and even some called select, none of those are from Stitzel Weller.
