one Duckstein, Rubin Bock..after a brief hike on trails around the neighborhood, now looking forward to a four-day weekend! yay!
Sansho Japanese “Herb Ale” which was sort of like an IPA but went really well with ramen and other salty/savory foods
At The Whiskey House is San Diego. It’s incredible! Any way ... I’m officially retiring in March and it’s my birthday this week so here is my present to myself. It’s everything the whiskey press says it is. Smooth as silk with warm spice notes, dried apple, pear brandy notes ....incredible. Indescribable unobtainium.
Whereabouts are you located? I've never been in a retail liquor store with prices like that. $32k usd!
@Larry S The Yamazaki 12 is one of my fav bottles in my collection, it is world class. I can only imagine how good the 18 is. @Dan S Bellevue WA bud. Bourbon tonight
OK, the Yamazaki 12 is available in my local store, so that's on my list. $32k Macallan ... not so much.
Did you ever notice that this is the happiest thread on OF? No trolls ... no arguments ... no snarky comments ... no sadness (sorry pet thread, I love you too). I am going to remember to buy negroni ingredients one of these days.
congrats! and enjoy I’ll be following your steps in a couple of years... I was there a couple of years ago and a great place it is! Incredible the variety they have on their shelves! A must for scotch lovers visiting SF!
