I never said it wasn’t. I’m okay with an hour hand misalignment unless it’s more than 2 minutes.

And yes, it would be 2 minutes past something that’s not 12. Here’s an example I found online (not my watch/photo):

If you want to get all technical about it, it’s 5:01 o’clock. The hour hand hasn’t passed the 6 index. Maybe I’m being slightly facetious (only slightly).

Yep, sorry. I misread. You never said it wasn't fit for purpose. You said ....… kind of defeats the whole purpose.... I've just looked down my electron microscope with its semantic hair splitting attachment and now admit that it has has a completely different meaning from not fit for purpose.

My mistake.

Yeah, that defeats the whole purpose, I have no idea what time that watch is showing. 🤪
