Getting your 3 year old to paint a watch face just so you can post a picture of it on here is a bit extreme, don’t you think?

Crosshair not looking straight and doesn't follow through the Omega + logo. It almost looks like they wiped part of the "OMEGA" lettering

I'm a complete noobie looking for a crosshair and this one looks like a redial ? How the crosshair doesn't follow through the 12, 9, 3 or even the 6 looks awfully naked.

The small seconds here just doesn't look right. Going through Ebay looking for crosshair dial watches I'm seeing a lot the don't "feel right"

Hello and welcome!

You are correct, all of these watches were redialed.

If you're looking for further information, you'll find a lot of useful threads here on OF and here will be a great chance to look at pictures, read and ask polite questions...

Thank you for the welcome message ! Glad to be here.

I've spent the better part of my sunday reading around the forum and it's been an amazing ressource to learn about what the no-no's are and it's really helping me focus on what I want to target as my next purchase. Really appreciated learning from the forum today and looking forward to keep learning.

I don't know where you found that, but I looked all over the inter webs looking for a watch like mine. Apparently it happened more than once....😁

I believe that the majority of 1960s black dial Omega’s are repaint jobs. Apparently some fella called Don Draper got the trend for them going.

Today's two candidates:

Yes, you can tell that second one's a redial from the tiny bit of blue paint on the 12 marker. That would never happen with a factory produced Omega. They're way too careful to let that sort of thing through quality control.

Nope. They never made an expressionist dial on that reference.

Engee was being facetious right??

It looks like someone drew radii on that dial with a sharpie. A true masterpiece.

Very rare blue gilt 1950s stylistic incongruity...

This one confuses me a bit. Clearly a repainted dial, but the font looks really good, as if original and showing through enamel. How is this achieved?
