Hi everyone, I’m brand new to this forum (other than some recent lurking and learning) and just wanted to share this incredible UG Tri-Compax I was lucky enough to have turned up. Condition is unreal for a watch with a serial number dating it to about 1945. Also came with delivery papers, handsigned, from a service or resale by Watches of Switzerland (in London) to an owner in 1950. Couldn’t be happier with it. Thanks for looking, and any feedback, and am looking forward to continuing to learn about and admire these incredible UG timepieces from everyone here. Thanks!

Thanks - nice to “meet” you and this group. I’m clearly a novice in the world of vintage watches and UG, but when I saw this one I knew it was something special.
Apologies in advance to any of you who might have already seem these two pics on Instagram. I’m like a proud new parent.

what's the case size on this beauty?
35mm I believe. Strap is a perfect 17mm at the lugs. Caliber 481.

Fair warning ... they are like potato chips, very expensive potato chips. You can't stop at one!

Yes, I’ve learned this the hard/expensive way. This is actually my second “potato chip” already. Will post a pic of the other later this week. Gotta run for tonight, but feel free to follow me on Instagram for a preview - MarktheTime. Have a great night!

Best way to start is always to start on top.
Well done, that really is an incredible watch. What a well preserved dial!
Just love the 7.😉

One thing I wonder -- was eyesight generally better in the 1940s? 😵‍💫 I have a lot of trouble reading the date on these, even with progressives.
