One thing I wonder -- was eyesight generally better in the 1940s? 😵‍💫 I have a lot of trouble reading the date on these, even with progressives.
Ha ... Carrots ... lots of carrots. I think the beauty and coolness was the amount of complication packed into a 35mm case. I have 37mm but still think the essence of these is this size.

Yes, I need a magnifier to set the date -or strong reading glasses.

Amazing condition dial, and with papers from 1950's it is a must have.

Just why do "they" not make watches like this anymore ?.
Todays watches are better, more advanced in materials but don't have the essence? Maybe in 50 years they will have what it takes ?

See attached, along with the letter delivering the watch back from a service (or to a new buyer) in 1950! Yummmm... 😀
