I was tempted by 112, the Megaquartz Stardust - which went for £1600+fees (25% if bought direct) and seemed very reasonable. 👍

Thankfully "Sensible Chris" was in control of the bidding finger, and reminded "Gotta have the watches Chris", that the money in the saving account is for January's tax bill, and that HMRC do not respond well to "but I bought an electric watch from the 1970s" 😗

The movement number ( 26076339 ) of Lot 95 lies within the correct range for Ultraman. A good deal for parts, and perhaps for an imposter who likes to break watches for profit 😀

Yep...everyone is ahead of that one, luckily we have an OF sleuth who is watching for just that, a subsequent appearance of an orange hand....

Lot 95 could have had a evil orange hand at some point which was broken and then replaced with a white luminova hand. not beyond the realms.

That Stardust was a good deal and I somewhat regret for not having bid more.
I also had upcoming January in mind and the upcoming insurance costs/taxes for my cars in mind.... 😉
So I also stayed sensible....

We both clearly made the correct choices. That doesn't mean we have to be happy about it though! ::facepalm1::

There were at least a couple of Speedies in the naughties that had their ‘incorrect’ orange hands replaced with ‘correct’ white spear hands. 🙁

I have to admit being put off by the poor photos and not seeing the watches in hand. I was sorely tempted to bid on a Rolex 16800 but in the end decided I need to sell first to justify adding another sub to my collection.
Thanks William, very informative and helpful review to assist my ongoing Speedmaster education!

I bet it has happened a few times in the past.
