I feel this white-dialed Speedmaster will be tied to the Artemis program. I wish the Speedmaster writing is in Blue. The beautiful "Blue Earth Crescent" shade of blue from the Artemis logo!!! Hope we don't have to wait too long to find out the details...

Hi,

Shouldn’t there be some kind of a countdown from Omega Teasers if there would be a new Speedy tomorrow?

Yea per an earlier post here, I'm guessing it wont be tomorrow:
Just learned that Omega is organising an event for (press and) enthusiasts in Biel on the 15th to 17th of January, asking people to mark their 'lunar calendars' for it. So, I'm putting my money on Tuesday the 16th as opposed to the 2nd. 😉

Very hyped for this. I'm hoping it'll be a standard model and not "it's not a limited edition but there'll be limited supply" type bullshit (ie - Snoopy).

My guess is no doubt the same as others.
It will be a regular production version of what Craig was wearing. It would be classy and subtle.
The promo pic with the red Astronaughts is a dead give away.

It will be directly tied to Artemis and quite possibly the announcement of the launch date for the return to the moon.

Omega may even go all out and have the watch actually flight certified by NASA(they may even pay NASA this time to colaborate) as happened with the original moon watch to supercharge the credentials of the watch exponentially and what better occasion than Artemis to pull off such a marketing juggernaut for their Flagship watch and set it up in the hearts and minds of those who already have the complete collection of Moonswatches.
After all, Rolex smashed Omega out of the park with the first Titanium production watch to be able to go the bottom of the Challenger Deep as a total knockout punch.
Omega has to do something to trump that so Rolex can have the deepest watch in the ocean and Omega can own the stars👎

When you think about it.
One of the original design parameters for the Moonwatch tests was that the watch either had to be a black dial with white markers and hands or a white dial with black markers and hands for contrast/legibility.
So an Artemis tied watch with a white dial can easily fit the profile.

What will be the surprise will be that the parameters for the tests will be updated to a more stringent standard or alternately an added test or two. One added test for Artemis and one for a new and greatly improved Omega Moonwatch🤔
Of course, that's assuming NASA will want to play in that space, and Omega can back the 3861 in a newly configured watch.
I might be wrong, but what a story😀

Problem with Artemis is that it won't land until 2025 at the earliest, if at all

Or… it’s them coming to the realization that no one wants to pay $50k for the Canopus gold white speedy and they can sell oodles of the steel versions.

Is it irresponsible to own a black dial speedy (FOIS) and also a white dial speedy (if these rumors are true) ?
I ended up purchasing a polar 16570 earlier this year because I wanted a white dial watch.

As long as you can afford it, no it's not.

I would suggest it’s irresponsible not to 😉

Polar 16570 was my first white dial watch as well! A few years later, the Silver Snoopy came along and then I felt like the 16570 was redundant and it didn't get any wrist time, and I ended up selling it, which I very much regret now. So moral of the story, if the white dial Speedmaster does indeed come out, and you decide to get it, keep the 16570 !!

I hope not. I’ve got 2 of each.

Nothing, not even a teaser like last year's spirate Speedy release.
