Those Paris 2024 straps are advertised for the Paris 2024 Seamaster on their Omega webpage. Would be odd for it to be on a Paris Speedy rather than some other unique strap for a Speedy. My US OB states the white dial Speedy will be available Q1 and offered to put me down for one so whatever the white dial is made for it won't be for sale only in Paris.
Perhaps, but people are putting a lot of faith in one or two public shots of Craig wearing a white dialled Speedmaster, translating into it being freely available soon. There has been nothing official out of Omega, and I haven't heard of any OB confirming that it is a sure thing or the availability of it. But a lot of OB talk of 'putting you down on the list' ala Snoopy and the 321, perhaps just a knee jerk reaction from experience over the last few years. We will have to wait and see what the next few weeks bring.

I would only count on it being announced in January since thats the only thing I've heard from actual Omega corporate.

That plus Omega's track record of taking forever between announcement and actual availability.

Some folks had that same strategy for the Snoopy 50th and Ed White 321, 'why go thru the hassle of deposits, putting your name on a list and waiting, I'll just wait a year or two and bag these at a hefty discount on the secondary market or at an AD with a nice discount after the hype dies down'. Yeah, right.

Actually I wanted the Snoopy since Day 1 but I was not able to get one. However, I was offered the ED white 321 but I turned it down, although the movement of the 321 is same as the orginal, yet I think Omega is charging too much for what it is. The Snoopy on the other hand, was fairly priced when it was released and more of fun watch to be honest.

As for the regular speedy, I won't pay retail when the black sibling is being offered new at 20% off. After all, Omega pricing has increased significantly in the past few years and I don't think that regular production worth the retail price.

Me too, but I'm not gonna work hard for it and ideally I'd want it from my Zurich OB but limited supply blah blah blah which seems really dumb, but maybe I don't get the numbers.

You and I are two lost sales and there are lots of us ... is that better for Swatch Group in the long run? Doesn't seem like it would be.

I asked my OB regarding the white dial Speedy but they did not know anything. But said they had lots of requests for it. Of course, as usual, VVIPs get priority. So im getting one muahahaha

Yep. And many folks also went through the hassle of deposits, putting their name on a list, and waited...

... and are still waiting, with those deposits still safe in the banks of ADS (some OBs) and their names on a list, years later.

The only sure strategy, it seems, is to pay way over the odds or look elsewhere for a watch you can enjoy on your schedule, and your terms.

But that can't be the case. I've been waiting for feeled ages for the 321 too. Some others go to the boutique and have one within 6 months. That's how you alienate collectors. What can you do? keep waiting or turn away ... 😕

Been to the OB in TC Manchester UK and registered my interest, they do not know anything about the watch but they said they hope its not a LE as it will send a lot. I was third on the list.

We never know the full backstory on these stories. There are a couple where it appears the recipients either knew someone at the boutique or had some other 'in' that allowed them to pop to the top of the list. I don't think an average person can walk into a boutique today, express their interest for a 321 or Snoopy and get it in a few months. There are always exceptions of course, but in general these two watches have always been hard to come by from an OB, and still are.

That's right, you never know the full story. I now know of two cases that represent it for me. 😵‍💫

anyways, back to the topic: I'm also very excited about the white speedy and am already on my dealer's virtual list. 😁

I asked about it yesterday in the local AD in France, they knew next to nothing and no list to go on. I will ask out of curiosity but expecting no answer from them, so unless I occasionally get lucky with my Tudor fxd a year or so back I don’t buy much.

Last week, Omega hosted its Planet Omega event in New York and invited an impressive lineup of ambassadors, consisting of actors, athletes, models, and so on. Interestingly enough, actor Daniel Craig showed up wearing an Omega Speedmaster that misled numerous people. At first, it looked like the Canopus Gold Moonwatch, but upon closer inspection, it […]

All white background with red astronauts? That's how you spell limited edition moonwatch

Edit: I should say, limited production

I heard it's coming out in March and will be the watch Daniel Craig was wearing. Time will tell.
