Just learned that Omega is organising an event for (press and) enthusiasts in Biel on the 15th to 17th of January, asking people to mark their 'lunar calendars' for it. So, I'm putting my money on Tuesday the 16th as opposed to the 2nd. 😉

Interesting. So possibly a new moon phase? Not that I personally need another Speedmaster but I would be more tempted by a moon phase than a white dialed Speedmaster.

Jan. 11th is the new moon in Biel, with a waxing crescent around the 15th, for whatever that's worth.

I told my OB I want one. They said they can make it happen as soon as they find out what it is and when it will released. No one knows yet though. I have faith in my SA at the OB as he came through for my 321 in 6 months and my Snoopy in just under a year.

If he got you those two that quickly - you’re not going to have a problem.

I asked the local OB manager about this watch a few weeks ago. He said that he had received a lot of inquires but he obviously didn't have any definitive information about it. He just said to text him once Omega released information about it and he would put me on the list.

Went to my OB last week and they confirmed they expect to have it announced and available in early Q1.
There was no list when I asked but they will create one soon.

If the white dial speedmaster is a regular production, I'll wait 2 years and get one with a hefty discount one the hype slows down. I have the 1861 and 3861 (white face) will be a perfect combo.

Could it be a freaking Paris 2024 LE??? 😕🤬
Hope not...
Hope that Omega learnt from the last Olympic LE disaster... The Tokyo games which never happened...

A discount in 2 years after 2 years of price hikes?

You will see 5 of them after Christmas.

Rumour has it, it will be a white dialled Paris Olympic Speedmaster with Speedmaster written in the 5 colours of the Olympic rings….not just red like has been seen already.

Also released on the same colour strap as the writing

Some folks had that same strategy for the Snoopy 50th and Ed White 321, 'why go thru the hassle of deposits, putting your name on a list and waiting, I'll just wait a year or two and bag these at a hefty discount on the secondary market or at an AD with a nice discount after the hype dies down'. Yeah, right.

I remember several posters saying this when the Snoopy 50th was announced. Didn't turn out too well for them if they really wanted the watch.

The key part of the strategy is regular production. Obviously, Snoopys and 321s are not regular productions.

Uh oh, if the Daniel Craig worn watch is one of a series for the Paris Games next year it may not be available for general purchase, looks like the hype train may be returning to the station.

Omega released a LE Seamaster Olympic series back in 2018, identical black dials on all five versions but with 'Seamaster' in five different colors with matching color bands and colored aluminium ring on the back. 2,032 pieces each + 100 sets of the five watches, all still available on the US website. This white dial Speedmaster may be in the same vein in light of @STANDY 's previous post of the colored NATO straps which are shown on Omega's website as a 'Paris 2024' item. This may just be the latest five Olympic Speedmaster variations release after the 2020 Tokyo Speedmaster series. For sale only in Paris like the Tokyo models? We will find out soon enough.

Hope not...

The games did eventually take place in 2021 but it was a pretty low key affair. I doubt if the delay will seriously impact the long term desirability or collectability of the Omega Tokyo LEs.

Definitely a photoshop, based on the lugs.

Someone probably cut the pic from DC's wrist and pasted it on a stock 3861 pic.

I don't think that is the same dial as the Craig watch, this dial looks like it has a silvery finish similar to a Mitsukoshi or Canopus gold model. The Craig watch looked more white. Either way it's definitely a photoshop job.

Those Paris 2024 straps are advertised for the Paris 2024 Seamaster on their Omega webpage. Would be odd for it to be on a Paris Speedy rather than some other unique strap for a Speedy. My US OB states the white dial Speedy will be available Q1 and offered to put me down for one so whatever the white dial is made for it won't be for sale only in Paris.
