Will I regret not buying the CK2998 now?

It’s a similar story with the Speedy Tuesday editions. I bought my ST2 at RRP for £4.75k last November and have seen its value rise to around £7k on Chrono24; same with the ST1 which has gone up considerably. Whilst it’s always nice to see a watch that you cherish appreciate, it’s always on my mind that today’s Picasso could be a stone cold turkey this time next year. Still, does it really matter unless you buy in the first place desperate to make a profit?

If you’ve bought a variety of watches in the past months then I would argue that you probably like those more than the CK2998. If so, walk away if it’ll be a bit of a hardship to add another rather pricey watch to the stables.

That said, it’s a lovely watch and I’m also quite tempted by one. I suspect though in the next near future years you’ll still be able to locate one for a reasonable price and have no regrets that you didn’t snag one when they were available. On most of these models in the near term, even with hyper, they go up and settle back down a bit

You never quite know how watch lover trends go but this is my best guess.

Doubt will increase in price on nearest future; if you are concern on pricing buy a pre loved one

I have one of these and it’s very nice. Value wise, neither of the CK’s have increased massively but neither have they tanked. I suspect that will continue to be the case.

As far as the watch itself, I do believe the pulsometer looks more expensive than it is and relative to some others is great value with the sapphire, ceramic bezel etc.

Buy at the right price and enjoy.

I have the FIOS and blue dial 2016. I enjoy them both. Price seems to be stable and holding almost retail.

Man that looks even better on the bracelet!

But after all your replys and a lot of thinking I decide, not to buy it. I really like the watch but I just spent too much in the last months. Since Christmas I bought the Speedmaster, Seamaster and a Nomos. It ist getting out of hand... But thank you guys!

Weil, of course I am regretting not buying it and now there is none to be found in my country.

I am planning on buying one on Ebay. Already found a really nice offer. 6 months old, like new for a fair price.

Do you know if there are good fakes of this watch? What should I look for when meeting the seller?

I haven't heard of any fakes on the two CK2998 LE's, but you never know. If it has the box and matching papers, along with the special numbered folder, it probably is not a fake. What's a fair price?

The price is 4.700 €.
H'mm......a bit below market value. Just make sure all numbers check out and the watch works. I'm always suspicious when a very new watch appears for sale at a low price.

The price seems quiet common in Germany. There is another one for 4600 on Ebay but that is too far away.

thank you for your ideas!

Be mindful meeting the seller with cash on you. Don’t go alone ( wise to get a friend to wait nearby with the money and you can ring him if everything checks out ) and meet at somewhere public or a bank or police station, even ask for their driver’s license

Many deals have gone wrong in this way before. ( from snatch and run to being robbed )

Life is short - buy what you like (and can afford). No one “needs” more watches — it’s a hobby and hobbies are meant to be overdone.
Probably why I'm seriously considering selling/trading my recently purchased Blue SMP 8800 for a Speedmaster 38 324.30.38.50.01.001 because I'm so entranced by Speedmasters. And probably won't end there.........I've overdone every hobby I've had. Now I have post-operative nerve damage in my right hand and can't work on model trains or be competitive in target shooting, I've chosen watches as my new obsession. Wants overcome needs but only if you can afford them. I won't incur debt to finance toys, never have, never will.

A picture of it would be, say, a good avatar, beats a question mark?
Seriously, pictures please!
