Not much has really changed with them. Instead of ETA movements, they now source mostly quartz movements from China, Japan and Switzerland and some Seiko or Miyota mechanicals. All pretty decent at the price points at which Invictas actually sell.
However, the styling is garish and derivative, while their marketing is misleading at best.

·Paul Peugeot is another once highly respected watchmaker, now only a brand name slapped on low priced medium grade flashy quartz watches.
My older Peugeot (60's) uses a licensed Seiko designed movement and runs great. A very stylish dress watch that has become my favorite for everyday wear.
I wonder if there's a list of brands that have used Seiko movements?

They do - they are the only watch of theirs I personally think is worth anything. What is annoying though is the giant "INVICTA" engraved on the side. Has to be one of the few instances where spending more money to make something makes it less desirable and cheapens it. The $10 I paid for mine at a thrift store was worth it.

·I agree that a lot of their designs are not to everyone's 'taste'! but I bought mine at a local auction, nicely put together and a Seiko movement, keeps excellent time - my son liked it who also has the same model!
