If it was the black one (which at that price I'd think it was), then it's 42mm - the Aventurine, and the new moonphases are all 44mm I think?
Im tempted to go and see if its still there tomorrow

The modern Omega is not a real piece of aventurine either - it's also a faux aventurine effect. The vintage watches are the real thing I believe.

Cheers, Al
I believe it's Cobalt Goldstone. Pretty neat, pretty old material.

Real aventurine is a quartz mineral with other mineral inclusions, but these dials are made of glass made to look like aventurine, so yes cobalt goldstone (which is glass). Odd that the mineral is named after a glass (Aventura) and then they make glass and call it the mineral. 😀

I fell in love with this watch when you posted it. But a manual wind moon phase is probably better as a daily wearer. Or at least a daily winder and I cannot wind it daily. Still on the list, though.

Hey Chris, yes, the Aventurine Speedymoon case is the 44.25mm one; as are all the newer Speedies & Speedy Moonphases.

Standard Moonwatches remain in the 42mm case, perfect size in my opinion.😀

would it be heresy to put that dial on a regular speedy? saw this one in an AD the other day. First watch that caught my eye. That dial is absolutely gorgeous.

Saw it at the Tourbillon boutique in Dallas a couple years ago. No matter what angle I tried, I couldn't make the dial photograph as awesomely as it looked in real life. It really is spectacular, like a field of stars. It's totally appropriate for the Moonwatch.

FFS I just got to the point that I was happy with my life 2x omegas (seamaster and speedy pro). Now someone has decided to bring this stunning watch to my attention. Now I'm missing one from my life. FFS why is loving watches so expensive?

I saw and held this watch (the Aventurine) at the Speedmaster event at an Omega Boutique earlier this week. It is a beautiful watch for sure -- didn't seem that big to me but a heavy piece. I think it was about $11k.

I love it. It’s a great size but I’m a pretty big guy. I get it if you do like a smaller watch ie...fit under a cuff. Do you all feel the same way about all the 44.25mm speedys? All honesty my 3573.5 feels just a hair small on my wrist. I love it though. That aventurine dial in person is fantastic. Also this is a late read but I see them for sale for under 8k now. Will they keep going down or is it a great buy?

I love such dials and wish more watches would come with them. I find them absolutely mesmerizing. Are they some equivalent at a reasonable price point so no haute horlogerie and apart from vintage quartz constellation ?

I remember seeing a Doxa at Baselworld 2018 but it was a tad big and not that good looking apart from the dial.

I like mine but I just don't love it... too much sparkle for my taste. I think I got too excited about the deal I was getting on it and forgetting about all that sparkle. I should sell it.....????

Arent you the game guy who had the PCA Speedmaster stealth sales post? I think you are pushing it mate. Perhaps you should stop buying Speedies since you don’t seem to want to keep any. Whatever, you certainly aren’t entitled to sell them here.

I am.... I sometimes buy impulsively.
Why you seem upset??
I got a fair amount of speedies, 8 of them... and the only one I'm partial to is the aventurine and future purchases won't stop.

Not upset, just pointing out that posting only to sell your items isn't allowed here. Sales privileges are for established members with a track record, as a basic way to protect against fraud. Take a look at the rules regarding selling. Carry on as you are and you will get binned, which would be a shame if you are here to contribute and exchange info and opinions.
