As I promised @Eve and @Zapatta, here are my new arrivals:

The 5801 113 on the left is in very good condition and apart from some lume loss there is nothing to complain about.
The PH1000M on the right will be returned as it has too many issues due to a recent service with a watchmaker who apparently hadn't access to some hard-to-find parts. I could get it in peak condition, but I shouldn't take on projects...

A real shame since it was very cheap and the dial and hands are pristine. Even came on an original bracelet 🙁

If someone would like to take it on, let me know today. I'll be happy to see it go to someone on OF.

Back from a service.
That said, the date is only correct 7 times a year since my repairer couldn’t source what was needed to fix this.
So, looking forward to New Year’s Eve 😉

Cal 25-651? The date change is notorious for breaking on these.

Perhaps OF might think about a notoriety thread. Another watch I have with an Omega cal 1250 is supposed to have a similar problem

@Spruce yep. change the "calender driving wheel" (Part 2556) and most likely everything will work as it should...😉

Thanks for the advice. My repairer sourced this one and it’s on the way

I recently picked up this for about 200$
Certina blue ribbon, they were given to Volvo employees in 1977 due to their 50th anniversary.

Quick question?
It's loosing time when used so in need for a service I brought it to my local AD.
And they gave me a estimate of whopping 508$ for a service/overhaul with cleaning.

From what I found out online some were delivered with inhouse movement cal 25-651
And others with a movement based on ETA2783

I'm not sure which I got, but what would be the normal cost for each?

serials starting with 913 contain the Certina movement, 623 are the ETAs

Looks like you’ve got yourself a lovely watch. Is that the original protective covering on the back?
I typically pay around $275 in the UK (+ extra for any parts)for a straight forward service on this type of watch. My advice would be to get some advice on local independent watch repairers that are near to where you live and get a quote from them.

Yes it is, seems like rarely worn and sharp case to my eye. Watchmaker said it looked very clean on the inside with a nice certina movement, caseback marked 913. So it's not the ETA one..

Will prolly go back to the box for a while.
Have some more watches I'm waiting for 😗
Thanks for the input

What do you think about the really really old Certinas?
K.F. 320 from 1947 together with a nice G&F Bamboo…

Hi,
I just wanted to show this, picture which was shown to me earlier in the week.
It's a certina cut away to show the quality of its manufacture.
I think it was something a sales guy would carry around.

These are fantastic! They were meant to show of the shock protection system that was proprietary to Certina DS 😀
