Need more!

Is that diver lumed with radium? It is absolutely beautiful. The depth of color and texture of the lume contrasting with the black dial is to die for. I love these, but I would be afraid of so much radium though.

There’s a lot of case and metal between you and that radium- just don’t lick it

That Argonaut 280 you have above is great - love that orange second hand.
There´s a lot of different models on that ref. Did you see my previous post from april 13th 2019 ?

I have a Certina quarter repeater wrist watch somewhere. I will try and get it out in the next few weeks.

99% likely yes, I haven't tested it with a reader but they were originally radium. The hands are relumed though.

But yeah, I don't wear it often. Apparently they are very hot compared to most radium watches out there.

I tested one of mine once and was disappointed to find only a mildly high reading. It was done with @tdn-dk's gear and he tested a fifties (forties?) Omega afterwards that blew the reading out of the sky. I'd heard the same line about the extremely high levels of radiation on the DS before, too.

A unique thing to be disappointed by 😉

But good to know it's not the worst out there!

Interesting, I had assumed the DS diver would have a high radiation level because the large area of lume. Apparently, companies use different concentrations of radium.

Enough time to post some pictures of beautiful watches.
Shall we breathe some life into this lovely thread?(or are we doing a vintage Certina only thread?)
I could start with some vintage certinas if you'd like...

So I had owned this vintage Certina DS for quite a few years. Bought it for next to nothing and got a price I could live with 😉
