OK, the bug bit...and maybe hard. These watches strike me as the Citroens of the auto world, in a good way.

How do you think I did?

The listing said 29mm, I am assuming that's across. I haven't received it yet, I'll report in.

Hello Certina Aficionados!
I need help!
Got a Certina DS-2 Super PH1000M, first series , reference 58 01 302 with the 25-651 movement.
I need an replacement glass and a crown.

Does anybody have information for me concerning crown and mineral glass e.g. dimensions ? whom to ask ? etc.
Is the mineral glass identical to the one of the DS-3 Super PH1000M ?

Best regards, Frank

Hi Frank. I believe the only difference between the two is the movement. I read a thread on the military watch resource website about someone who restored one, he might help you with dimensions.

I'd like to show off this one, which has come to Denmark courtesy of @michael22 who helped me immensely!

It's now ready to continue its military career in the Danish army 😁

This beauty came yesterday as well; the best preserved DS I've owned:

Here's one that I used to have, a Certina Kurth Freres 100 year jubilee with a Peseux/ETA 7001:

I'm glad you'r wearing it to work, I could never wear such a wrist volcano to work.
I assumed you would put it in a collection, but it's getting the life it deserves.

You know, I thought exactly the same. But then I put on a Doxa bracelet and wore it and realised that it is surprisingly comfortable. It does the same trick as the Doxa and the Seiko divers with their short lug-to-lug distance where it just shrinks on the wrist; one of those rare few instances where you're happy to say that it wears smaller than the size would indicate 😁

I have skinny wrists myself and even though this is strictly very informal wear only, I see myself wearing it a lot. Didn't see that coming at all.

Definitely getting used as it was supposed to...

Well, not exactly at the bottom of the sea, but you catch my drift 😁

Hi Everyone, I am looking for thoughts on a couple of old Certina watches that are for sale on the Bay. Do either of these look repainted to you? The first is a Hertig branded dial, which is quite unique. Here is the link:

The second is a military style watch but the case is quite weathered but the 2 tone dial is quite clean. Here is the link for this one:

Your thoughts would be appreciated. Cheers, alan

Hi all! First time poster here on this forum and I thought I'd share my Certina with you. I'm pretty confident its an early 50's model with a Cal. 28-45 Movement but I'd love to hear it if anyone knows any more about it
Cheers!

Working on bringing this one back to a good wearable state. Early Patent Pending with the rose gold case. If anyone has a lead on a 25-45 DS movement ring please let me know. Otherwise I see myself spending too much on a donor watch soon.

Looks epic on the bracelet! Whats that printing on the dial?
I popped mine on an expansion bracelet for the summer, pretty pleased with the outcome:

Nothing special...
5601 003 from 1959
5601 012 from 1960
5601 012 from 1961
It‘s all about the details!

Hi Certina Lovers,

I got a question concerning a Certina DS-2 Super PH1000M, 1. series resp. DS-3 Super PH1000M (I think aside the movement both are identically).

Who knows wether ist neccessary to remove the bezel for taking out the craystal?
And if so, how to remove the bezel?

Furthermore I´m looking for a crown.
So if somebody knows anybody …

best,
Frank
