That doesn't help. 🙁 The last time I bought a watch that cost more than $1000, it was the RGM in my avatar pic. I'm probably getting a Zelos or two in the next month. And I have my first Lüm-Tec, in years, coming later this year. I've wanted to get a Speedy Pro for a long time...
Also, some pics of that RGM would be appreciated. I have a curiosity for them

Read, son! I said sub-$1000 😜

Zelos and Lüm-Tec are sub-$1000 watches.

What I MEANT to write (because typing is hard, right? 😵‍💫) was that the last time I bought a watch that WASN'T sub-$1000 was my RGM back in 2013. Back then, a used Speedy Pro was about $3000, so an interesting $1000+ watch was too big of a bite of that $3000 for a potential Speedy. In my head (and, I know this is completely illogical) $1000-1500 was "close" to the cost of a $3k used moon watch, so I just couldn't pull the trigger on something in that range. For example, Zelos released a nice Valjoux chronograph watch last year that was around $1200 for the launch price. And I've always wanted a Bell & Ross BR01. But they're usually around $2500 or more. And I'm sure over the last 7 years I've spent enough on sub-$1000 watches to buy a new Omega. 😕😉

If you asked instead to compare a 3572 and a PP 5711, there starts to be actionable information.

I have a cabinet full of Nautiluses (Nautili?). No one needs more than 17 of them. 😁😗

I'd like to know who would be considering those two watches, but is thinking "I can only afford one..." 😜

Good thing about Bell & Ross is the fakes are usually a better made watch....so you can get a good one for $300 😉

Every real BR01 I've handled felt very sturdy. I was on Canal St a few years ago and those fakes felt like they were made from aluminum foil. I was afraid that if I sneezed while holding it, it would fall apart.

I get what you are saying. I bought a 3572.50 (tritium) almost 9 years ago and a Gemini IV almost 7 years ago. In my guesstimate, the Gemini appreciated more than twice the 3572.50, even with the 2 year differential when buying. But I had no idea they even made a Gemini when I bought the 3572, and plenty of Speedmasters have come and gone since buying my first. As time passes, I don't think there is a correct (or incorrect) way to go on selecting one or another Speedmaster.

I still own both. And the 3572.50 is my first Speedmaster.

That also brings up a point...3572 or 3592. I'm going with the former because it's a lot less expensive, and is probably cheaper to service.

At least you would still have a better movement than a BR01

Well...after I get a moonwatch, it's open season. Like I said above, I've held back on spending anything close to moon(watch) money on a watch for years. Although I may be selling a pen kit for a decent amount, so with that unexpected windfall I might convince myself to get both Speedys. Or spend the money responsibly. Like redoing my bathroom or painting the house... 😗

Personally, I’d buy neither save my pennies and buy a belter in 2022.

Outside of a select bunch, you won’t be priced outside if you change your mind anyway - most don’t go stratospheric. I’d take your time and work out what you really want before committing

While we're waiting for you to get to 90, give me your rationale for getting the Rising Sun now and the sandwich next year. 😎
