·This is the dilemma whose horns I'm currently on, have a 1861 Hesalite which I'm going to trade on a 3861, really like the display back on the sapphire, like the bracelet, the applied logo but don't know if I can live with the " milky ring". I really prefer the warmth and clarity of the Hesalite. Both are currently hard to get, at least together to compare. My AD advises that Omega generally won't alter a watch from it's original configuration, so I'll probably go with which ever shows up first. With my luck, they'll probably do a 3861 Hesalite sandwich right after I get home with whichever I choose. At 73, I'm not doing a lot of waiting for much of anything. In reality, should probably wait for the Hesalite, I'm just going to be grateful for a METAS movement that hacks. My "Grail" watch is a Silver Snoopy, but $30k? Insanity unless I hit the lottery.
I do wonder why they don't offer a hesalite sandwich anymore. The Silver Snoopy will be available, eventually, for list price. While it's impossible to predict what I would do if I won zillions in the lottery, I'd like to THINK that I wouldn't pay $30k for a Silver Snoopy just out of principle. But I'd probably say "eh...that's chump change" and get it. Actually, if I won the lottery I'd definitely buy the moonshine, sedna and canopus speedys. Probably two of each (the extras to stash as an "investment")
