..new Dynapulse escapment throughout their models which is far better than the Omega Co-Axial one, ...
Once it's kinks are worked out, I'm sure it'll be a solid movement. Better? In what way? Better water resistance (not a function of the movement). However, the latest (3861) movement is superb, too. Neither is a flyback. A higher beat rate doesn't make it better. Which is more legible(not a function of the movement)? Omega. Which has easily accessible pushers(not a function of the movement)? Omega. Both have excellent accuracy. Which is under $10k and obtainable? Ω

Asking to Ferrari fans if you should get an Aston Martin. You will obviously get 90% Omega here.

And as usual, the tread is gone talking about Rolex for 10 pages anyway 😀

In most general Daytona vs Speedmaster questions I’d pick a Speedmaster, but in this case I’d go with the Daytona.

Is picking the Daytona and swapping it for a Speedy pro, an SMP summer blue and a new Railmaster a option?

I mean, just think of how embarrassing it must be to walk around with that thing on your wrist.

It’ll never end. And that’s not a bad thing. New people becoming interested will lead to repeat debates. I prefer this over the debate shifting to something like… Speedy vs Black Bay Chrono.

Although, Speedy vs Polaris Chrono is something I think about a lot…

Speedy vs Black Bay chrono isn't really an either/or though, is it? Both are actually readily available, unlike the R brand. I actually do have a panda Black Bay and like it a lot.

Some vintage Daytonas look great but the current ones are horrible. And that Speedmaster is fabulous.

Thanks for all of the replies, I really enjoyed reading everyone's input. I love my Speedmaster's, and the Apollo/Soyuz is one of my favorite Speedies that I own. I do appreciate all of the changes that Rolex made to their 12 series Daytona's, the 4131 movement with fewer pieces than the 4130, the addition of the chronergy escapement, the updated non-asymetrical case with deeper crown guards as well as the updated dial and bezel, they went in the direction of previous generations. I don't find the dial overly complicated and I have been able to easily read the time at a glance. That being said, Speedies have the advantage in legibility with their beautiful, straightforward dial design and I love them for their heritage and beautiful design elements.

This may be cliche, but for the Daytona I prefer the Panda dial. Going all black, I'd take a Speedy.

I would happily pay this MSRP, but I won't pay it and wait two or three years to get it. Or pay someone that did 10K over. So I collect Speedies and am happy.

Chronergy, because they could not call it "Damn Omega has George Daniels patent and Co-axial sounds soo cool! ".

The solid black ceramic bezel of the 116500LN was unique and looked sporty. The new 126500LN bezel makes it look like a glorified Tudor chronograph. So I'd go with the Soyuz meteorite Speedy.
I much prefer the 126500 to the 116500. The old model looks bloated to me. To each their own . Both great watches here. Buy what smiles to you.

The AS every day of the week and twice on Sundays.
I don't know, this comes from the man with multiple Zeniths. We all know you are a Daytona dude. Nice try.

all my chronographs have in common that the bezel is small, pushers are immediately available without having to unscrew first and the subdials are correctly lined up on their axes.✌️
