·Any advise on the best and saftest place i can sell or list my watch for sale. I do not have enough post to list it here. I heard to many horror stories of ebay and chrono. Any places to list that anyone can recommend
people loose watches and saying they never got them. Or returning a fake watch i just dont want to deal with them and the fees are very high on ebay
Well you don't want the EBay / chrono24 experience, you've let it be known here that you've got a watch to sell. Have you thought about a local reputable High Street AD/watch retailer who might take it to sell on commission?
There are plenty of on line dealers who will buy your watch, take a couple of pics and send them around to the various dealers.
The problem with commission selling is it often takes a long time to liquidate the watch as the dealer has little reason to aggressively market it. Better to sell it outright.
Ya a lot of the online dealers offer dirt.
eBay will cover you but they will always side with the buyer but there’s a chance insurance on the package will get declined.
With the current "verification" system eBay has, the watch is shipped TO a verifier first, and they repack and reship out. How does a damage claim work in a case like this? Because it's not being shipped directly from seller to buyer.
The seller is only responsible for shipping the item to the address provided, which in this case would be the eBay Authenticators address. It is the sellers responsibility to securely package and ship the item with insurance for the sold amount, should anything happen. If any loss or damage occurs in this stage, the seller is responsible. Once the item has been authenticated, the Authenticator will repackage and ship the item to the buyer using a label provided by eBay, which will be insured for the full sold amount. If any damage or loss occurs at this stage, the responsibility falls to eBay as it was their label that was used. It’s a similar process for eBay’s Global Shipping Program. The seller is only responsible for shipping the item to the distribution hub.
