·That argument aside, as it is clearly stated in the OVDB, it won’t help the OP if he went back to the seller and says “I’d like a reduction please because some blokes off the internet said it’s not a ‘pie-pan”

Appreciate your wisdom in this issue. I might bring this up as a separate post, as I am still confuses om the pie pan. I will definitely enjoy my new acquisition, regardless if its pie or dome 😁

Thanks for sharing this. Read a lot of articles on Desmond's blog, but this one is new...a good read!!
So after reading, to summarize:
1. There were Dome dial and Douze pan dial (twelve faceted/sided dial)
2. In reality, the shape of an actual "pie pan" is more close to the shape of dome dial.
3. For some reason, someone interpreted "douze pan" wrongly as "pie pan"
4. Then everyone started to call it a pie pan dial.
5. Even if "pie pan" was a wrong interpretation, now even Omega is using it.
Now I wonder if Omega will call the domed dial a pie-pan or not...

·It's not so difficult really, the most people who don't seem to understand it are those who own a dome dial but thought they had bought a pie-pan!
