Where to find a replacement crown / how to clean scuffs off crystal?

Hi guys,

I've owned a vintage omega (165.002) for the past year or so. The condition is great, but the crown isn't original and I got some scuffs on the crystal.

Is there any way to clean the cyrstal and a cheap place to get a replacement crown that is still original?

I find metal polish, in England I use Brasso, will remove scuffs from the crystal, you just need some patience and a gentle touch

If that's all you need it isn't that expensive...

Your watch will never have an "original" crown again. It can have a "correct" and "authentic" crown, but "original" is gone forever once the part that it left the factory with is lost / replaced. Just want to make that absolutely clear, as I do with nearly everyone that uses the term "original" incorrectly.

A watchmaker could find you the correct one from Omega with the case reference number. If you can find a decent picture of what shape the crown is somebody here might be able to help. Actually, most of us could if we felt like doing the homework for you. 😉

why not let your watchmaker figure that out? (isnt that part of their job-description?) ... assuming that you wont service and install it yourself.
