Hi guys,

I've owned a vintage omega (165.002) for the past year or so. The condition is great, but the crown isn't original and I got some scuffs on the crystal.

Is there any way to clean the cyrstal and a cheap place to get a replacement crown that is still original?

Thanks,
rzdh

Hi
I find metal polish, in England I use Brasso, will remove scuffs from the crystal, you just need some patience and a gentle touch

There's also polywatch, specifically for watch crystals.

If you're desperate, toothpaste and elbow grease also works on crystal scratches.

A "cheap" place to find an original Omega crown? Get back to us when you find such a source. 馃

Your watch will never have an "original" crown again. It can have a "correct" and "authentic" crown, but "original" is gone forever once the part that it left the factory with is lost / replaced. Just want to make that absolutely clear, as I do with nearly everyone that uses the term "original" incorrectly.

A watchmaker could find you the correct one from Omega with the case reference number. If you can find a decent picture of what shape the crown is somebody here might be able to help. Actually, most of us could if we felt like doing the homework for you. 馃槈

why not let your watchmaker figure that out? (isnt that part of their job-description?) ... assuming that you wont service and install it yourself.
