When did the 5711 Nautilus price go so berserk?

I like it, so I sort of get it to a point, that point being around $30k but how did this become $60k+ so quickly when they're still in production and its a steel 3-hander with date... Its making the 15202 AP look like somewhat of a bargain now by comparison and even outstrips the cost of the IMO much nicer 5726 at this point. Who is doing this? :\

This one? PP site shows €26K as MSRP. Perhaps $60K is buy one, get one free promotion?

😀

Totaly agreed, a 5726 full set which is roughly around $45k looks definitely a better option

So that still is the MSRP? Has Patek slashed production or something to artificially inflate the price drastically in recent times or something?

That's what their site shows.

Where did you see $60k?

There is an average of 2 watches delivered by shop per year (a friend checked recently at a PP shop), and sometimes 100+ persons on the waiting list... so there is -let's say- a small premium for the ones who want it before

The thing is you can't find one for MSRP. Even on the list you still have to wait for 6 years+

I was really looking hard for a blue dial 5711 about a year ago... even then they were difficult to find used, and priced around $35k. I passed at that price! Now the consensus among sellers seems to be $45-50k, but I would say they are easier to find now. They do seem to be selling though. I have given up asking in ADs, they won’t even add you to a waiting list any more. At least it’s making me appreciate my 5726 even more 😁 (actually wearing it this morning!). Also, while obviously high, the price of a decent 3700 seems to have topped out around $70k, so the differential versus a 5711 is only around 20k now.. also food for thought!

And I just noticed I set the date wrong ... annual calendar only needs to be set once a year, post Feb 28th, and even that I screw up ....😵‍💫

Worn a Nautilus every day for decades. Only regrets is that I'm not wearing one now.
If I could afford one I would be fishing in a different pond: PuristS Collectors Market 😉

I’d imagine when you’re at that price point, most of us with $40-$60 k to spend on a single watch would struggle with the idea of what other nice exclusive watches (plural) we could get for that money.

Totally agree. At that price point, whatever you choose needs to make you smile every time you put it on your wrist.
I'm sure that an original AP RO Jumbo would put a S--t eating on my face as well 😀

I've just realized that Patek has increased 5711 retail price by 20% this March. And the rumours of this increase have been spread on forums since months before. I've never been into watches that long, but has there been any other company doing a 20% price increase at one time?

PP increased 5711-1a and 5712-1a by 20%, the only 2 models in the Nautilus line to receive an increase which came into effect 1st March.
