When a glass shatters..............

Don't just get the mall guy to put a new one on.

You need to have it checked by a watchmaker.

My daughter dropped her Wewood watch and the mineral crystal shattered and the watch stopped, so she put it in a drawer a few years ago. I gathered her dead watches when I visited recently and found that the battery had died / leaked and the movement was stuffed, so a new movement (AUD$7.00) but I had to use the original (Date @ 6) date wheel. When I removed it I was surprised at the amount of glass that had managed to get under the dial.

So, the moral of this story...............

Indeed...







A broken crystal, other than acrylic, requires the movement to be serviced typically - replaced if it's quartz and cheap...

My ExpII required new dial, hands and service when I dropped it during a vacation in Sydney AU, repairs cost more than my round trip flight...
