First time i see a Blancpain 50 fathoms milspec identified as "French navy" though 😕😕. They're supposed to be US military watches.
At that price you'd think they would double check.
Hi S. I got curious of your point as I'm not knowledgeable about these watches so I researched a bit and saw this

My memory was correct and both Hodinkee and that Japanese trader are wrong.
Blancpain's own website indicates the history of the Blancpain Milspec, it was a variant developed for US UDT (underwater destruction teams) and Navy Seals. Followed by the "Milspec 2" more commonly known as the TR900- Tornek Rayville 900. (rayville was the town where Blancpain was located and Tornek its US distributor).

Again, if I can confirm the info in under two minutes from the source itself, what does that say?
It's quite telling if I, a relatively recent enthusiast, have managed to learn more than they have in their entire time in business.
A., OMG 🥰, your head must be reeling from holding/seeing that plethora of beauties between your comrades, shop owners, and such... I am green 😁 with envy!
I'd like to spend a birthday (or, any day) just like yours was spent! Must also get to Tokyo...📖
Congrats on your new, beautiful UG...
This is a thread that represents most everything that OF is about...
...sharing beautiful pictures of fine watches, sharing the good times together online or, when motivated, and the stars align properly in person (!), making new friends, and spreading factual information based on actual research!
Thanks so much for making it happen, and sharing all of this, @aap!
