What's the consensus on this Denison case CK2292?

Taking a look at something (once again) I hadn't set out to look for: A Denison cased CK2292 with the 30T2SC movement and a non-original crown. I'm familiar with the Denison re-cases for surplus, but this one has had the original lugs removed and tapped/drilled to accept modern spring bars, apparently, which is obviously not great for collectibility. Also, to my eyes, it seems the case has been polished at some point. My guess is a surplus re-case model with the bar modification and probably the most convenient crown some watchmaker had around at the time to repair a watch to working order back when I'm pretty sure it was still just somebody's workhorse.

It's far less 'original' than I'd normally like, but Covid boredom and just a love of the WW2 era Omegas has me considering an offer. I'm waiting on closer/higher res movement pics, but from those I do have below, what do you guys think of the old gal?

How many numbers are on the mid case at the 1 o'clock lug? If 3 digits then it never had fixed bars, if 4 it very likely did, I have been loosely tracking these Dennison cases for quite a while and the 3/4 digit relating to the fixed bars does seem to be a 'thing'. I have never seen a 3 digit mid case with fixed lug bars. I think the 13322 case is a really nicely proportioned case, better than the 2292 imo. It does look like a surplus recased 6B/159, the movement serial looks in the right range but I am not 100% up to speed on those. Nice watch.

The current owner swears the guy he bought it from told him he had it changed for springbars from the fixed bars, so I currently assume 4, but he's supposed to get back to me.

What do you guys think might be a fair offer on one like this? It's good aesthetically overall, and the movement is legend, but I have no idea how difficult sourcing a proper crown for this will be. Feel free to PM to lend opinion/s if anyone prefers.

Thanks guys!

I don't think sourcing a suitable crown would be too difficult, it wouldn't be an Omega signed crown. Price wise I wouldn't be confident enough to comment but I suppose if someone was looking for a decent dial for their issued 6B it would be an attractive piece as the dials are often quite faded in the 2292 cases, particularly on the crown side.

I don’t know what the price would currently be for one of those with an unmarked Dennison case but I like it a lot. The dial is beautiful.
MWR member Antoine has commissioned correct reproduction crowns which he also sells on Ebay, user name Latriaz IIRC.
Best regards

PS if you end up not buying it I’d be interested in considering it. Sending you a pm.

I actually have this watch down in my list already as a recased 6B/159 but don't have a record of whether it is 3 or 4 digit or not so I would appreciate clarification on that if you find out. Cheers
