I like manual winding watches. I recall reading that manual wind watches need you. Well ... I need them too.
I'm the same way about the firearms collection. Yeah, while I've got semi-automatic everything bolt-action, lever-action, slide-action rifles and revolvers are satisfying to me.
Me too, JwRosenthal. Most gratifying and effective shave.
It's gotta be a book too. No Kindle need apply.

Yes, all except one.
Well, you know pilots ......... 😉
My favorite shooters are my revolvers (when at the range I shoot single action), long guns are bolt action and over/under only for trap & skeet.
I listen to 99% analog at home, over 5k LP’s and not a micro-chip in my systems (other than the power conditioner and the CD players that live off to the side- rarely used). I am old enough to have lived when the old tech was king, but young enough to have been part of the digital revolution.
Some love new tech, some love old- I tend to enjoy the slower more mechanical processes as I feel a greater and more deliberate connection with my life experience- however small.
Any chance I get to slow things down- I take.
I used to collect revolvers, but I like big bore and those suckers are too painful to shoot in a revolver, but I get the fascination with a finely tuned revolver. Not to mention, revolvers are real pain it the ass to take apart, automatics are way easier to tear apart and reassemble.
Agreed- I had a .44 Smith..emphasis on had. 38’s through a Smith model 28- can shoot that all day. Cleaning is like the slow 9/12 “quick set” not ideal but part of the joy ownership.
And I have to say, I love the zen of gun cleaning- and the smell of Hoppes.
Some gaffers tape over the date window and rip that rotor off and you’re there! 😉
Seems like all very expensive watches should be quartz, as I don't like the idea of having to reset the time when I put on an automatic I have not worn for a few weeks. And forget about automatics with date functions -- they rarely have the correct date unless I spend a ton of time advancing the date wheel. I have no need mess with the time or date on my one quartz watch. All very expensive watches should be like that.
