Thanks for the reply. I have a Seamaster 300 which I have worn everyday for 7 years and now it’s having a long awaited service. I also own a Seamaster 1948 (new version) but it’s too special (to me) to wear as a daily. So looking for something reliable but still premium and probable not vintage
I would just rock that beautifull 1948 Seamaster. Its 15000 Gauss and 6 bar tested, i am pretty sure it can handle few months of daily wear 👍
And save the 500,-€ 😎

I am amazed at the price you can find Certina's for.

I know me too. That's a lot of Swiss class for small money.

I’d wear the heck out of that 1948 Seamaster over the next 4-6 months. It’s too nice to just sit in your watch box for “special occasions.” Put it on a cheaper calfskin strap to dress it down a little, and go for it. Unless you “daily wear” involves breaking rocks or construction, it’ll be fine.

But if you want a new watch for under $500 that you can add to you rotation later, I understand that as well. Lots of good suggestions here, but I’d probably go for a Seiko diver that you can use as a beater at the beach in the future.

+1 for a Hamilton Khaki Mechanical. I bought one last month, and love it. While out for a pint on the weekend, I noticed a fellow sitting at the next table had one as well. I commented and he likewise started singing it’s ‘all-around excellent watch’ praises. Killer value. OK, maybe not as killer as the Certina. But still. 😁

For under 500- I would buy a GGW113, but, unfortunately it looks like they increased in price from when I last bought them, although maybe some good snipes can be had for around that still. I miss when they were 200-300, they were destined to be my forever field watch but why did they have to increase...!!

Recently got the Hamilton manual with the bracelet...very smooth fit and the blasted finish of the bracelet blends well. Bracelet--very light and comfortable.

I was in the same position a while back and bought a Seiko Prestige. Tons of options under $500. Particularly looking at Baltic at the moment as they can be had for about that

A nice vintage "Polerouter hommage" Seiko Automatic will be under your budget and a nice addition to your collection.

I would go for an original-design G-Shock, the DW5600, but maybe in an unusual colour for something fun. White? All black? Red? Lot of choices, most are under $100, and I enjoy it more than the still-cool F-91W you already have.

Update to the above G-Shock suggestion: after thinking about it more, the original black one is great but the colourful ones might be a little juvenile looking. Not blatantly, but in a similar way that surf shorts, or Converse Chuck Taylors, or backwards-worn caps aren’t really advisable beyond a certain age… Mea culpa.
