Yes, at least an American version. It's said to be the only pre-World War I battleship left, the USS Texas.

I've somehow messed up the photo in creating the avatar. I'd hoped the entire photo would show but the results were cropped.

Here's the photo as taken.


We attended the 100th anniversary celebration of the commissioning of the Texas a year ago in March and the photo was taken then.

Yes nice. I had no idea any American battleships of that era were still afloat.

What about the USS Constitution. I thought that was the oldest battle ship. I visited it in Boston a few years ago. It was amazing

Not considered a battleship in naval terms. The equivalent of that era would have been a ship of the line like the HMS Victory. The Constitution (and the Constellation - memories of my Baltimore childhood) are frigates - in fact two of the first Five Frigates of the U.S. Navy. See the book of the same name for a great read.

As for old battleships whatever happened to the USS Olympia in Philadelphia - relic of Deweys great White Fleet.
