Here's a ref. 4843, sold 1942, small size, but I love the copper dial. Unfortunately 13:50 all day long, so it needs parts, but I'll get them
Very interesting! I have a Longines Weems, also from 1943 with the same fonts on the dial. Same hands also. I was never sure if this was a redial or not, since there is no “Swiss” on the dial. Case is US made steel. Thanks for posting! gatorcpa
Unfortunately, both dials appear to have been refinished. Below are a couple of original dials for comparison. Photo source unknown. https://www.catawiki.com/en/l/26008813-longines-weems-men-1901-1949
From 1929. White gold filled Canadian made case, white vitreous enamel dial, original hands, period correct expansion bracelet. This one was buried in a drawer for about 50 years, along with dozens of scrap watches, donor watches, and future prospects, until I acquired a replacement movement. My only Longines.
I’ve had this a while but never wear it. After seeing @b-lilja’s post about a Hodinkee Certina, I thought I’d give it ten minutes wrist time. I’ll have to whether to sell it or put it back in the box.
The Wermacht Longines (DH) watch from the seller Paul Bauermeister from the year 1942. Beautiful patina on the Dial,,what a nice piece of history.
