The seller has offered me a special price on this Seamaster Chrono but what should I counter offer? What is a good offer, everything works...

These are the only two pics I could get, a little light wear, black dial. Serial # begins with 78 so it dates around 2006 I believe.

Hard to know what to counter when we don’t know what the offer is.

Yeah, I didn’t know if it was appropriate here. Other groups kick you off if you mention prices.

Not here. Perfectly fine to share asking prices etc. It’s just expected people do a bit of their own research before asking for valuations.

Ok. $2500 is asking price.
2500 is not unreasonable, several have gone for $2,200-2,600 recently

Perhaps I'm stating the obvious but that looks like a Seamaster chrono, not a Speedmaster.

I like the hands but the seamaster chronos seem off to me. Still it’s what you like and doesn’t seem like a crazy price.

I wouldn't offer anything without better photos to properly evaluate the watch, incuding one of the movement. The two photos above are terrible.

Is it only me that thinks this watch has my spidey fake senses twitching?

It’s not fake. Just horrible photos and a rough example (and imho, not an attractive watch in general). Here is a better example for comparison.
