Loake Rivingtons.I got these earlier this year after my Barbour chukka's failed. I rarely wear shoes even during the summer so the boots have to be good and Loakes for the bill. I was doubly chuffed when I got these because I live by Rivington Moor and Rivington Pike is only 2.3 miles away.
Well, you haven’t seen all my boots this was the era when Lucchese only made one quality commercial boots, the very best. Only produced several hundred pair a week in San Antonio. the other line was purely custom, and made even better.
Panama Jacks. Wanted a pair of Timberlands but tried on loads and too narrow ( super wide foot). I was recommended these. These are Spanish leather, gore tex and super comfortable. Mine are 4 years old and look better now than when I initially bought them!
My 4 pairs of Loakes. Gilbert's at the top. Burford. Blenhiem Rivington I think these boots will see me out.The Burford's are the best footwear I've ever had. All bar the Gilbert's are made in England
I took my new pair of Red Wing Iron Rangers for a maiden voyage; just a quick little hike with the dog to start wearing them in.
I loved the toe-capped Wings because Construction safety required steel toes and these looked the look but were comfortable to wear. Working construction....Redwings can enhance your career. Quality doesn't cost...it pays.
Slight thread drift , Since Covid changed my daily office commute forever I'm more of a working from home Slipper man , so I thought I would treat myself to some nice comfy slippers for my daily commute from the home to my new office HQ ( conveniently sited in my garden ) . Highly recommended and perfect for the home to office commute & have water resistant suede for the days I need to dodge the rain . UGG Scuff Romeo 11
As long as you rotate them out with another pair (at least) AND take care of them, any quality well-made boot will work.
I've had a pair of Cheaney Godfrey suede Chelsea boots for around 4 years now. Still very wearable and still look smart(ish)
I've had this for about 2 years, with light duty wear - mainly only in the rain. A few scuffs here and there, but still almost looks like new. Frye in museum calf and GYW. Not that I particularly think Frye is an awesome brand, it just happened to be on appx 67% off and this seemed like one of their better boots. It also wasn't as chunky as some other chelseas that I was looking at.
