No Barbour or Bellstaff, but those are chukka boots aren`t they?
Sadly he died of cancer in 1980 (apparently from contact with asbestos in the navy and in ship yards) so there is another important dissimilarity.

Big fan too, they just dont make em like him any more.
I had a red Mini too.

Doc Martens so comfortable, but not at all quality footwear. These ones are made of leather and not the usual patent "leather" so maybe they would last another twenty years.

Spent the day digging to find buried boundary markers on my vacant lot. It's winter in Aus so it's been raining a lot and I got these R.M. Gardeners absolutely caked in mud up to the elastics, but just hosed them down at the end and drove back home. Brush the rest of the mud out of the welt when it dries and they'll look good as new. I love these boots.

Lucchese Boots originally were made in San Antonio and they only made one grade of boot, the best possible with the best grade of leathers. These tip to toe alligator boots were a Special Order boot
(And they still are at $16,000 USD.)
When eBay was in toddler clothes, and one just wrote checks and mailed them to sellers (!!!!) I bought these from the son of the original owner who lived in San Antonio after a few back and forth messages since they looked brand new. Turns out they were a Sunday Boot. I remember using the google machine to check New Pricing and wait time for delivery. Seems like it was $5-6k & 3-4 months in 2000. Buy it Now was kinda new plus one could BIN even if bids were logged at the time and I pondered the BIN price and the high bid and pounced. I figured I’d never see this condition in this perfect size again and so, why wait? Such a comfortable boot. And I got $1000USD worth of joy out of them the first week😀 gravy since and on many other days besides Sunday.

Oh, I hear someone say it's “too hot in Texas to wear gator or sea turtle boots In the summer.”

Well,

Not these...

Went to put them on and felt the floor with my toe. Time for a new pair for the tennis courts.
