The AT never appealed to me, mainly because of the dial and the chopped off hour hand.

My favourite modern Omega is the sensibly sized Railmaster.

But what is the second hand blue in the one a pasted above your comment?
Why is the second hand blue? Because that is the way Omega made them. They all have blue second hands. I don't understand your question.

Must be the lighting in some of the articles I just searched. Didn't know which was correct or if all had blue second hand.

Blue is correct is all I need to know. Now that you said that I know to stay clear if not blue.

Thanks for your time helping me.

They are tempting me from going after a JLC 39mm rose gold with blue center sweeping second hand. The vintage is basically the same price too. Man what a decision.

I'll take the limited edition one with the larger logo and 12 hour bi directional bezel. Still regretting not getting one when they still had them.

SPECTRE

Sorry to drag up an old thread but if you still want one, I know of two in Europe. I'm hoping to buy one. Both are brand new from the same AD.

Yeah there are a few out there up in the 8-9k range, marked up from the original price.

Hello,
my favorite modern Omega is Aqua Terra, and I'm going to buy the blue dial one (it will be my first Omega).

Mine is probably the SMPc Diver, with blue dial. Even though I also have (and love) the SM300 Master Co-axial, I think the Diver is in some ways more iconic for the modern Omega lineup, given how long it's been in continuous production with only incremental changes to its appearance. In that way it's become something of a parallel to the Submariner, I think. It's often dismissed as a cliché made famous by Pierce Brosnan, but it arguably brought many new wearers into the world of Omega (myself included).

Come to think of it, that would make an interesting poll: How many current members of the Forum bought the Seamaster Diver as their first Omega?

Although I haven't looked at them all I was taken by the FOIS back in 2012 but balked at the price. I was drawn back to it again end last year after searching for a companion to the 1978 Speedy my dad left to me, something to start my own timeline with. It's a beautiful watch that wears easily on the wrist, pays tribute to the past (1962 Mercury pioneers) but is shiny new and sharp looking. Couldn't be happier.

I just got this modern speedmaster this week, need to send it out for service. Looks like it needs a new movement, and a extra link or two for my big paw.

Mickey liked the blue second hand so much that he switched the original Rose Gold hour and minute sweeps to blue ones 😀

So many unbelievably gorgeous pieces in this thread.

This is my favorite Omega, a gift from my wife for our wedding. Hoping to add a few more to this watch and my speedy in the coming months.

I agree. It's my first watch. I tried few different ones in store including planet ocean; with some flexibility in price and I was drawn back to this watch; for me it's perfect size, looks good, doesn't have bling bling factor and the more I use it the more I appreciate the art if the bracelet too, it's 5 links, 2 tone makes it so stylish and comfortable.
