There seems to be quite a lot of variants. As i slowly building up funding I have to say the teardrop lugs are probably my favorite. Along with the bomb lugs.(picture shamefully stolen from Analog/Shift)

That is a great dial along with the nice spider lug. I got one as well but my dial is kind of out of whack.

Interesting question. For me its not just about lug style but also case size and case material, they all go hand in hand. I think the mid sized ribbon lugs and spider lugs are very distinctive and I like them a lot, but don't end up using them as a daily. I find the OS 22502 and 22536 more "practical" for regular wear. For 50s I like the 22279, and even more than that the 50s round pusher cases, but I don't have any. (That's all in SS).

For gold I like the spider even more, dresses it up a bit, and for OS gold I like the 12296, practical and chunky case, but still kind of modern feeling.

Some pics...

You got some collection there!🥰
That gold with spider legs is so elegant yet so rebellious. Love it!

Cant see anything wrong here. Think it looks rather good! Just to show you a prospect im looking at. These are not easy to come by in good conditions

thats pretty hammered, I would hold out for better. Hour hand is wrong obviously, chrono reset looks off, pushers don’t match, crown wrong....also the lug attachment is not very strong on spider lugs, so always keep an eye out for signs of re-attachment, not saying that is the case here, just something to be aware

I think this mid sized 22258 on C24 is very nice. Not cheap at 6750 asking, don't know if there is room to negotiate. I'm also putting my 22502 up for sale or trade. But if you are set on spider lugs, I think it will just take patience to find a good example, they are not very common as you know
