My favourite modern Omega would be the latest Speedmaster '57 with broad arrow hands. But this might change when the Speedmaster Moonphase Master comes out.
Have they made any Cal 9300 Constellation Double Eagles yet? Don't recall seeing any in Basel 2013, although they did give the Seamaster Pro Chrono Diver the Cal 9300 treatment
Well for the longest time I did not look to closely at modern Omega say anything from mid 90s to present .....
I just to have multi hour phone conversations with Chuck Maddox ( this went on for many years ). As I used to be a traveling sales guy on the road .....
He would always mention that I should get a Seamaster Pro Chrono in Ti ( chuck really loved this model ! ) . I used to laugh saying its a pedestrstion watch ..... Can be had at any shop. I never saw the attraction, that was until I was in a shop 12 years or so later. They had a first generation with all printed dial (no applied omega logo). Truly new unique omega design not taken from their history ....
I loved the watch . I did not get that one but kept an eye out for one . I called a watchmaker fried of mine and just shooting the breeze asked anything come in ? Oh an omega but it's too new for you has blue dial and chronograph like brand new w box and papers ....I asked if it was Ti , he said yes and I told him I wanted it. At first he thought I was joking .
Well I got it and wear it while traveling ....
Here is a pic of a later version stolen from a Google search ..
best of both worlds ... modern and classic/vintage at the same time ... something about it that I only get with a rolex sub ... its not modern nor old, its just as timeless as they come ...
This one is my favourite. Not much is different from the original, but subtle differences are there in most parts of the watch. The DNA and foundations are much the same, a great homage to the original. It is still flight EVA certified by NASA and the Russians have been wearing it on an EVA from 2014.
