Hi all, I am new to the Zenith part of this forum. I love the Zenith A386. But it is a minefield out there. A lot of fakes came up for sale. Though I already read some of the posts on fake A386 I still want to know more about it. So can you please help me in telling me what is wrong with this one on eBay? https://www.ebay.de/itm/332504604357?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&fromMakeTrack=true

Hi.

Dial is service, along with sub register hands and possibly the hands. Crown is service. Photos are not good and it is hard to see.

I would pass...

Listing鈥檚 still there. But as some German sellers do, listing seems restricted to um...German buyers....

Some pics for posterity, though a bit blurry to my eye

Out of the approx. 2500 A386 made, I wonder how many are still in original condition.... ??

To me, i would say 30% max.... which makes less than 1000....

Plus, it has an infamous "D460" serial number if I'm not mistaken ? LouS started a thread stating why he thinks they're a small series of fakes

Thanks all for your feedback. The story of the seller is that the watch was his father's and it was serviced by Zenith. They replaced the hands and the dial. The rest should be original. I had doubts because I had read the thread of the Zenith D460 cases. So good to hear your thoughts.

Yup I saw this one a few hours ago.

This is a mk1 case with mk3 caseback, this is why he mentioned caseback is not correct. It remains in good condition (from what I can see... The photos are a bit blurry and not sharp)

I saw a few A386 with non matching caseback recently... I always try to understand why/how those parts were changed....

Sub register hands are mk2/3

Incorrect caseback will hold value down if you decide to resell later on.

Since I am still interested in buying a A386 and still want to learn more about the A386, I would need your help again. Now this one popped up on the bay: https://www.ebay.de/itm/Zenith-El-P...423709?hash=item284d2c0a5d:g:TXgAAOSwXkNaWKId

Seller tells the caseback is not original. What are your thoughts on this watch?
I think this watch could belong to a forum member here @luzer is this yours sir?

Also hour and minute hands are not MKI, but MKII or MKIII. Still, overall good conditions, nice dial and nice fattish case
