. The owner worked at a UPS facility outside of Balto, and when the bike's owner never picked it up, and the shipper did not want it back, he ended up with it after it was forfeited.

This is a complete fabrication. UPS sends all unclaimed/broken/undeliverable merchandise to be auctioned off. UPS must remain above board in these types of cases. They would never allow an employee to walk out with merchandise.

Hey man, I am just repeating what the seller told me, or something like it...can't really remember all the details. Maybe it wasn't UPS, but an independent shipping company. Apparently these details are really important to some.

Maybe he got it from his uncle?

Never been banned.

Pfffft. Amateur. 😁

I was banned for knowing Dennis.

Dude, I literally busted out laughing over this. 😜😜😜😜😜

What would it take to get banned from this forum?

Considering they have me, quite possibly the member who's capable of the highest level of atrocious behavior, as a moderator, you can only imagine what it takes to get banned. 😉

Got a very stern warning for criticizing certain policy changes after Antiquorum acquired TimeZone.

I think I was banned there first, and subsequently under an alternate identity. However, on WUS I've been banned more times than I can count for verbally smacking around dipshits for idiotic behavior and perpetuating stupid "facts". Screen names included Pastawatcher, Jaegermeister, homage-sapien, Jack Schmidt...... I can't remember them all. ::stirthepot::

Speaking of evil moderators, I'm back to 5 day work weeks instead of 6 so I have some time to seek out some of you non-avatar having slouches and assign something that makes me laugh. I'll be looking for quotable stuff to put into avatar (subtitle) messages as well.

Muah-ha-ha-haaaaaa!

The barbed wire forum moderators are really rough. I was banned simply for asking how many 18" pieces I need to fence my small garden. Sheeesh.

I could see them taking offen'c'e at that.🤦

All this talk about evil moderators is making me a bit nervous.
So far nothing really too far out of line here, but consider this a warning.

That's right we can be really harsh if need be .😒

Incredible! A Donald Trump cat. Are there no depths we won't sink to for a laugh? 😜

Compared to other forums I have viewed, OF is quite civil.

Accusing us of being civil would be a good start...🙄

Sounds very familiar. I got axed, the first time 😉, when Micheal realized that I was tight with Jim Moose. Then again, Jim been barred from a few forums 🤦 None of which is relevant Jim's honest opinions and vast knowledge of Omega in general and Speedmasters in particular.

Were you "just saying what everyone else was thinking, but it wasn't PC / politically correct?" (read: racist hate speech?) 😉

I was banned from a University of Arkansas fan site when I posted information about the state HIGH SCHOOL basketball tournament in the OFF TOPIC forum in response to a question about the schedule. Asked him why I was banned and he said he saw my user name and assumed I was there to stir up trouble over the Razorbacks refusal to schedule Arkansas State. He offered to unban me I suggested he have sexual relations with himself. I presume the ban remains.

Wrote about my adventures at TZ Seiko section here in OF earlier:

"I have never been banned but I was in a fight (verbal) with one moderator of TZ: s Seiko section, some years ago, over his idiotic way of censorship. I quoted one of our times most iconic films and he felt the need to censor it. And then he continued by snipping away a big part of text in the following post where I politely debated him in doing so. He answered by just deleting the important part of my message - completely changing its context.

This is the text for my quote (a monolouge by Martin Sheen, playing Captain Willard, in Apocalypse now);

"How many people had I already killed? There were those six that I knew about for sure. Close enough to blow their last breath in my face. But this time, it was an American and an officer. That wasn't supposed to make any difference to me, but it did. Shit... charging a man with murder in this place was like handing out speeding tickets in the Indy 500. I took the mission. What the hell else was I gonna do?"

Observe the word "Shit".

This is what he did: namnls.jpg

Talk about being a sensitive guy...

This was my answer - and I do want you all to notice the text above mine - his text that accompanies all his messages/posts! Observe the word "arse"...

namnls3.jpg

He snipped away and my message became (here you can also see my response to his snipping...:

namnls4.jpg
Do I bear a grudge? No - in hindsight it is a funny episode. In a larger context it is alarming."

All I know is, you Arkansas State fans were partying up a storm in NOLA before the bowl game. (Maybe slightly more subdued after? No problem, you'll get 'em next year.) Nothing wrong with a little school spirit -- among consenting adults, of course!

Don't know of any that are truly for the free exchange of ideas and opinions since the owner/ operator and their moderator team will typically have a range of acceptable (to them) content.

This has more to do with protection of sponsorships and brand-based privileges than censorship. My objections have more to do about honesty and fairness in moderation than anything else.

Once you allow different content from "trusted" or "sponsor" members, the credibility as an information source is gone, since you know it all has been filtered through their vision. That's the main reason why I rarely watch TV news programs anymore. They are all filtered through the ideology of the owners and sponsors of the network.

As you have seen, pretty much any free exchange goes around here. The owners admirably are able to support the site without the need for censoring sponsors. Our main rules relate to the sales forums, and those are there only to limit spam/scam sales posts.

I never had the problems on WuS that others did, but then I rarely go after someone personally in a public forum.

I was taught to praise in public and criticize in private.

Quote myself from a OF praising post I wrote earlier:

"I have been in this hobby for a while now and I have seen the rise and fall of some sites. It often comes down to the moderators/owners loosing the humor, giving up on individuality and last but not least - they end up letting personal gain come first."
