Hey All The first thing that came to mind with the SpeedyTuesday releases was 'hmmm...bracelet...'. So which one? Lets pretend every bracelet was readily available (for some folks it is)...and ofcourse variety is the spice of life, so lets not exclude straps... So, what strap/bracelet have/would you put on the Speedy Tuesday? I opted for the modern 1171/633, and I am very pleased with the result. PS : If these were readily available I would have most likely gone 1450...
Strap for me, all the way. Probably buy in a new tan/cognac strap, some folks have suggested some great looking straps from Bulang and Son and TwoStitchStraps, will probably be one of them I go for. Bulang: https://shop.bulangandsons.com/watch-straps/siena TwoStitch
The 1171 is the 20mm vintage style replacement bracelet still under production for the speedmaster professional and the semaster 300 and I think you could get it from the boutique at the time of picking the Speedy Tuesday. The 1450 you have to source a vintage one; better look and feel in my opinion, but maybe double the price of the 1171.
@Tritium Thanks. Good to know re the 1171. Funny I never thought to ask the Omega Boutique. Will definitely pick every scrap of info I can from them when I go to visit the watches from Baselworld next week. Am lucky to have a 1450 mint. Got the wrong end-links (809) but still looks friggin hot. Just dont think it should leave the watch its on...
...and some members say VELCRO https://omegaforums.net/threads/speedy-tuesday-–-wear-your-speedmaster-on-velcro.56206/
Hi I own since a couple of days ago a speedy Tuesday and a 1450/808 bracelet. What kind of adjustment to the endings did you do to get it fit? Thanks
So your 1450 doesn't fit? I ordered a modern 1181/633, and the watchmaker at the OB had to file the end-links a bit to get them to fit. Here is a thread outlining the 'issue' (which is arguably a feature as it fits very snug with no end-link rattle) : https://omegaforums.net/threads/new-1171-633-bracelet-issue-to-be-aware-of.67141/#post-843815 I do own a 1450 as well, but haven't tried it on the SpeedyTuesday.
It's just the ends that are a bit tight. I have left it the store and they will have a look and adjust the ends of the 808.. but was just interested if there was a "dummy guide" so I could give the store some "inspiration" when they are doing the job
After trying a lot of different bracelets (1039, 1171, JB Champion, 1450) I settled for this 1168 ! Just in love with it !
Must say the bracelets do look really good. Went with this option as all my other watches are on metal and wanted something different!!
IMHO the inverse panda dial needs a darker strap contrasting with the white subdials. Therefore I will not put this watch on a bracelet. Gone with a grey croco strap by Jean Rousseau with Omega deployant clasp.
