Water damage for a start, and watchmakers using steel tweezers to press bridges in place...

Is that a question? How would we know? Ask the seller. Kind regards. Achim
Achim, What kind of answer is that? The original poster is asking for a "what could have" speculation and Archer offered some polite insights.

I agree with nkhandekar, also with some of my posts has Achim been very rude and out of order.

I am also just starting in the hobby, but no one should feel like they can be a**holes just because they have more experience.

I was glad I found a cool watch for 300€, so what? The OP wanted an opinion from more experienced people about damage in this movement and asked for insights.

I am very grateful, specially towards the moderation, for the space and the help we get, but why be like this, Achim?

Btw, you can spare me of your "kind regards", if you reply to this post.

Seems to me that COVID is making some of us a wee bit sensitive 🙄.

Not all responders are "English as First Language" familiar, nor are they as articulate as some would wish them to be.

They may also be a bit jaded by continual posts that show little or no research by an OP, so their brevity may be due to frustration caused by posts where no effort seems to have been applied.

The OP posted a picture of a watch, with a question that none of us are able to answer with absolute truth.

This one is on Ebay now at https://www.ebay.com/itm/154116226061?ul_noapp=true. What could have happened to scar up the surfaces like this? The case and face look fine but the movement appears to have been through a war.

The watch he posted is a bucket of shit, and the condition of the movement (as terrible as it is) should have been the last question he posed (if it even warranted more than a cursory glance before moving on).

Simply the most basic observances would have alerted anybody with even the most basic understanding of watches to the fact that the watch in question is a dog.

I have only pointed out the most glaring evidence that would have caused 99% of browsers to move on, quickly.

For your entertainment.
