What happened to apollo 8?

I believe the continued concern that people show about ceramic cases is way overblown. Unless you give it one hellacious knock against a metal surface in just the wrong way, which is extremely unlikely, these cases will last a lifetime. I just don't think it is an issue for the end user. But worriers gotta' worry.

The Apollo 8 has been essentially unavailable for over a year, the base movement is no longer in production, it requires special treatment in production, it's expensive, and it was to commemorate the 50th anniversary in 2018. It's time is up. I'm surprised any OB or AD is taking orders for one now, and giving 20% discount to boot. Hope you get the watch.

my AD offered me the Apollo 8 today and gives me 22% discount on this timepiece. Now i have to think about it, the call was a little bit surprising and I didn‘t want to buy a new watch that soon… but it‘s really nice.

I know, something like 7.6 k USD . From the 9750 retail! That is crazy. I have never seen any even used for that price.
