What do you think about this mark 2 racing

It is very strange:
The hands seems faded together with the dial, and the bracelet seems weared with the case...
Are there no probabilities that the hands and bracelet are not aftermarket and "born with the watch"?

Hi

It's an early MkII ' racing ' config in my opinion - I prefer this hour/minute handset & love the fading of the chrono & sub dial !

If you can buy it cheap enough , I would find a donor Case that hasn't been polished within a inch of it's life....

I would back it up with a picture or 2 if Photobucket wasn't such a PoS now 馃榾

100% correct. The hour & minute hands are correct for the first iteration of the 'Racing Dial'. I'm not certain if this is the earliest crystal, where the word 'Tachymetre' was positioned closer to the outer edge.

Neil, I have a feeling that the 'picture or 2' you're thinking of would be very familiar to me. The French one??

Thank You Neil.
I would be very happy if it's true, because I prefer this hour/minute handset too. I can't find any proof about it. Do you have any pictures or advertising catalogue where I can see racing dial with this alternative hand set?

And what about 1098/154 bracelet? It could be right?

Thank you Neil.
Exactly the same of mine. Also the crystal similar to mine.

Fantastic with the racing strap!
Why do you call it "The French One"?

What do you think about the bracelet 1098/154? Could be correct for this early configuration?

Thanks a lot.

Thank you.

They ask me 1400 euros. Is it too much for these conditions?

I would find a 1159 bracelet, a new case and clean the movement.

Otherwise, as I am a vintage guy, I could leave it in original condition.
Which are your advices for a minimal restoration?
