What do I have here?

This vintage Omega came my way from a jeweler's drawer. It is a bit confusing so here are the Pictures:
As you can see the dial says constellation and the Back is Seamaster 286/2848 SC

Either this is a Seamaster with the wrong dial or a Constellation with the wrong back. Either way, I want to make it right.

Can anybody offer an opinion please and point me in the direction of the correct parts?

It was (is) a Seamaster with an improperly refinished dial.

Thanks a lot Boojumhunter, I really appreciate your quick response. Do you know of a redialer who could do a decent job making it a Seamaster again? Or better yet, does anybody have or know where I could get the correct original dial?

I believe its the 2846 with the center seconds. Going to be tough but a search on the net might turn up a dial.

Having your dial re-re-finished will make it nicer and it's not going to harm anything. As noted finding a suitable original dial might be a long search.
