Wish me luck! But no, seems like it already worked for one watch I was pretty sure was magnetized. Good deal from strapsco.

Funnily enough, i had lost confidence in my little blue box so caved on a second hand elma antimag lately. Overkill perhaps, but I want to be confident I got the mag out before I try to regulate a watch.

This very cool paperweight made from watch parts courtesy of OF member and friend Duracuir1. Thanks, Steve!

I just hope it’s better quality than mine.

And yes that is a 19.8 lb steel brick. Where, when or why it was acquired by father/grandfather I have no clue. They are no longer around to ask. Never less if anyone needs one, just let me know LOL 😉

my bet would be as a small anvil, a useful thing to have around, luckily I have a small anvil end built into my desktop vice so no need to work out how to ship a steel brick

I’m very excited about this one as it’s been a long time in the making. Earlier this year, I reached out to my craftsman contact on the other side of the world to see if they would be interested in helping me convert my Speedmaster “big box” briefcase into a watch box and they brilliantly delivered a few days after Christmas. Don’t mind the sad state of the collection pic at the end 😗 Several pieces are out being serviced but I happily still have a few more spaces to fill with something special.

Bought this yesterday, missing the glass dome but amazingly the suspension spring is intact, usually the first thing broken!
So I am on the hunt for a new glass dome then I will clean and relubricate the movement.
This one is truly an anniversary clock with the inscription on the base, a 50th wedding anniversary present is my guess, well hopefully it will be doing another 400 days soon.
