I have been trying to cut down the size of my collection this year, and sold 15 watches but as so often is the case, as quick as they are sold I have bought something else to replace them haha! Here's my top 5!

1965 Longines Chronograph Ref. 7414

1961 Longines Conquest Power Reserve Ref. 9031/9035 (Double signed)

1957 Omega Geneve Ref. 2903

1944 Omega 30T2 Ref, 2186

1950 OMEGA Seamaster Ref. 2576

I'm already regretting a couple of my sales, particularly my beautiful "RAF" Omega 2292, so I think I might have to get another one of those in 2021 haha!

I bought a bunch of Omega this year, and I mean a bunch. I have to sell 10+ 🙄 lol but I have no regrets because they've lead me to these 4 😁
Rolex 1601
Omega 2576
Omega 14902
Omega 2869 (Crazy aging spots, but hey it's an original black one!)

Cheers to 2020 all! Excellent pieces, 2021 should be interesting

Been a quiet year for me. Bought a few accessories and had a few watches serviced. Nothing really got me excited, although I do like the new funky Rolex OPs
I bought these but didn't break the bank. I have quite a reasonable collection so its a case of finding something different to what I already have rather than buying similar designs. If a ST3 rocks up then I would have to try to get one just because I already have the ST1 and 2.

The casio I bought because like seiko, everyone should have a casio in their collection. I am not a fan of black plastic so went for a bit of colour.

The PSR was a replacement watch for my Omega TC1 which was buggered because of an exploding battery. Renata covered the cost of this in full. Its not a TC1 but I like it as an alternative.

I have liked the unimatic design for a while and was able to get this one. They sell out very quickly but I know that they get quite a few returns from secondary stockists because they send email to me with 'new chance to buy.

I have not tried any of them since I have not had the chance to get home since last February. Probably won't get home before July so something to look forward to.

Happy New Year OF'ers. I wish you peace, heath and prosperity.

1950 OMEGA Seamaster Ref. 2748

2748 is a 36mm 50s Genève reference. 2848 maybe?

Also, rather unexpectedly, I‘ll have to add another one to the list. This won’t be to everybody’s liking - call it patina or damage - but I love this kinda stuff:

Hard to imagine this used to be a white(ish) dial. Absolutely no idea what happened with it, but somehow it aged in a way that the inner circle appears either darker or lighter than the outside ring, depending on the light. I‘m mesmerized, prize was right, 35mm is a nice size for a 50s bumper - good end to the year.

Two additions to the collection this year. A Doxa 300T Divingstar for my birthday back in July, and then just last week a new Seamaster 300m to celebrate a significant career achievement.

Did you acquire good stuff this year?

It’s nearly the end of year and time for catching up. Did you pick up a new piece or two to brighten this ugly year? Got something special?

I know it doesn’t really look like it, but I started out the year swearing off new additions.

So much for that New Year’s resolution this year, as you can see. Of course, the real solution to not buying is not shopping.

Anyway, here are mine...

My exploration of early 321 excused these acquisitions.

It was impossible to pass on this 5512, as it was under $15k.

This was like a cute kitten at the pound. I’d like to argue that it followed me home, but you all wouldn’t believe it.

So, what you pick up this grim year?

So just a few?
Nice ones.

Haha you’re right, my brain was clearly not working, or maybe I had thought about putting my 2748 on the list! Anyway this Seamaster was the 2576 haha 😀 the first Seamaster Omega created 😀 I’ll update that post now.

For the record I love patina too! It’s hard to find ones that have aged evenly, but when you do it’s on another level 😀

I work abroad but get my watches sent to the UK and pick them up when I go and visit my family.

Five came in this year but only three hung around. Surprisingly all three were Rolex - something I wouldn't have expected to be saying!
