I got this error when selecting a portion of a post and hit the reply. I seem to be able to post otherwise.

I have also received that error message before when quoting another members post I wanted to reply to. I notice that it specifically happens when the text I am quoting/replying to has one of the built in emoji/smileys. If I reselect the same text sans emoji/smiley I don’t get the error.

It might be good to include @Trev and @dsio into this.

Edit to add an example:

Selecting text with a built in emoji & hitting reply

I can confirm that this is true for me as well. The issue only occurs on my phone, on my laptop I can reply with selections containing emojis.

Same for me. It only happens when using my phone. Just to add info for Trev & Ash, I’m using an iPhone 14 Pro w/ iOS 17.1.1 in Safari.

For me: Android version 11, running Chrome browser on a Unihertz Jelly2 (the world's smallest smartphone).

Interesting that’s cloudflare doing that, it has some services that are designed to prevent bots or people trying to fish around for vulnerabilities from succeeding, it must be falsely seeing those emoji as that. I’ll see if I can find the settings to loosen that up a bit.

I did a little more testing and thought the problem had been solved because I was not getting the error. Then I got it again when I tried to quote a selection containing this guy 😁.

Did it work?

Edit: The answer is yes. For me anyway.

I got nothing. Sorry.

Also worked for me.

Edit: I'm using the DuckDuckGo browser on an Android, for what it's worth.
