In 2024 I will be looking for :
- 30T2RG : so many different models I like … but condition will come first !
- I will never say no to 50s seamaster beefy lugs : I’m in awe when looking at some of OF crazy examples… don’t want to finger point member but they will recognize themselves ;-)
- then I’m thinking about upgrading my speedy and my SM300 with top conditions 145.022 and 165.024
- then if a zenith A386 or a Rolex sub that I could afford come my way I may go for those it will depend on watch money left when they appear ;-)
Anyway I really need to put my selling attempts to another level (sold my first 2 watches in 2023).
In 2024 I will be looking for :

Ha if only. I’m going to need to raise some cash and/or sell a couple in a new year reorganisation before buying any big ones.

·The past year has been a big acquisition year for me so my plan for 2024 is to just enjoy what I have. Still honeymooning with all of my Omegas so I’m pretty happy with the state of the collection.

·In 2024, I plan to continue my consolidation to fewer, more loved pieces.
On my wishlist:
1) a clean, steel Universal Geneve Tri-Compax
2) a Rolex Datejust Thunderbird/Turn-O-Graph
3) a Valjoux 88 powered steel chrono
4) nice, steel Omega chronographs (33.3, 27ch, 321)

The Baby Ploprof 166.025 or SHOM 166.0177 are high on the list.
A couple of other 'non dive' variants I'd be keen to aquire would be a Seamaster 145.025 in great condition, or a Memomatic 166.071.
That being said, if I'm realistic with myself, they're all just pipe dreams and any surplus income I have is probably going to be poured into the servicing costs of my current collection...

·My objective is primarily to enjoy the watches I have. However, I might pick up another modern watch for rainy days if the right one comes along. Offerings from micro-brands Baltic, Farer have been quite tempting.

·Perhaps I will get some of the 2023 watches cleaned and running.
I tend to set the complete ones asside most likely they need cleaning. I would say where is the challenge in that? More likely I have something missing parts on the bench, and missing parts always get priority. Then there is the desire to make a new strap. Or sand down and replate the case.
No matter how many landerons I have there are more parts needed. The real question is will the winding clutches arrive Friday (2023) or Monday (2024) Amazing how so many are missing. Then the question is how long before I order more as the seller relisted 3 more. I have 4 sets of landeron 51 plates and two sets of L-48 plates, all what can use winding clutches. The big parts assortment seemed to come with everything else.
Probably could say the same thing for the Valjoux movements. I think I have all the parts now.
Then the enicar movemets. I really only need one.
Technicall the Omega stuff falls under the first line. Apart from some case clamps those should be complete. Only needing cleaning. And to find time to make some nice leather straps from scrap pipe organ material.
Of course there will be some sort of must have that shows up. What quickens the emotion.

·After several years of very selective acquisition, I’m content with the current state of my collection. I think that 2024 will be devoted to wearing and enjoying what I own and servicing a few pieces that are due for maintenance. That being said, if something special should present itself, I never say never. 😉

·1. Sell my 145.022-69 ST. Or get the pushers replaced. I want to wear it but can't trust its water resistance now. Might be a better watch for someone else.
2. Sell my Tudor 1926. I simply don't wear it.
3. Get a Lemania 5100 or like-equipped watch. Omega or Orfina (et al), Damasko DC86 or Sinn EZM10.
4. Get a Submariner from the late 70s to the mid 80s - matte dial, painted indices, sapphire crystal, ref. 16800, I believe. Since I'm about ten years late to than one, a Submariner with drilled lugs, no engraved rehaut, and Superluminova, ref. 16610 from about 2000 to 2007 is more likely.
5. Service some watches.

·Great thread! I've been thinking about this a bit lately and I definitely second @Aroxx 's sentiment they posted.
This coming year is going to be a bit more of a focusing year for me, enjoying what I have and parting with those watches that could be more enjoyed by another. So my goals so far for 2024 are:
1. Enjoy my Speedmaster 145.022 Racing Mark II project once it's complete and I pick it up from the watchmaker early in 2024.
2. Sell my Wittnauer 8023-241T
3. Sell my Seiko 7A28-702A
4. Might part with my Freese 101 with the 369 dial but not sure about that yet.
5. And lastly if I do decide to acquire another timepiece in 2024, I'll be following @Davidt 's #7 of their list: Condition, Condition, Condition.
