The Neptune Factor (1973) going to watch this later today, I believe it was a bit of a flop.

Downloaded the Fritz the cat movies, will watch them in the next day or two. A real blast from the past, have only read the comics back in the 70's and didn't know there had been 2 movies made.
Hope they live up to the comics!

Watched most of Iron Eagle tonight, if anyone remembers that movie. Love it. Dripping with 80s cool.

"Time to die, Iron Eagle!"

I haven't seen this since it was first released in the theatre, but I remember it being unintentionally hilarious...

It's interesting to note that Aliens Earth has not yet been confirmed for a 2nd season by Disney. You would think it would be a no brainer given A: the advertising dollars spent on it's promotion and B: it has been wildly successful ratings wise.
Perhaps Disney doesn't need the money or aren't too concerned at the viewers displeasure of having delayed seasons IE next season might not be for 2 years. Bit of a dogs breakfast on the organising front Mr Disney.

I watched episode 1 of season 1 of Slow Horses last night. Six seasons have just become available on Amazon Prime in Australia so I splashed out on a months subscription.
Not sure that I'm feeling it; background music is 'off' for me and there's something odd about the overall tone. I'm getting that old school British sit-com vibe from the humour, and not in a good way (said as a born and bred Pom).
Big fan of Kristin Scott-Thomas 😍 and Gary Oldman prior to this.
Is it worth sticking at? I've only seen rave reviews and you don't get to six seasons without merit.

Think I'll watch John Carpenter's "They Live" tonight (on Rialto via Amazon Prime in Australia). Never seen it before.

Then I'll switch to the new Terminal List prequel Dark Wolf for the weekend binge before deciding on Slow Horses. 🤔

Recently tried Reacher S3 and Tulsa King but gave up on both as too over the top / unrealistic.
Not expecting Dark Wolf to necessarily be realistic* either 🤣 but hopefully not too many WTF behaviours as the above two series.

* I've got no real life experience of any of these characters to judge really 😉

Iconic fight scene, iconic line in the bank, Rowdy Roddy Piper (from Saskatoon, not Scotland!) - you really need to see this. Of course it's an 80's flick with it's inherent flaws from the era, but that adds to the charm.

Taylor Kitsch - another Canadian. This is an okay show, but the Terminal List original series was much better.

Recently tried Reacher S3
Reacher is just good fun and I've enjoyed all 3 seasons so far.

BTW all seasons have been filmed in Ontario, including the 4th season. In the 3rd the big house is a real place called Escarpment House in Caledon, Ontario.

None of these reek of realism, but it's just entertainment so I'm willing to suspend my disbelief if the show is good otherwise.

Even though I'm Canadian my favourite TV programming is PBS, whether the News Hour, Nova, Nature or British crime series.

And anything Ken Burns does is amazing but I'm particularly impressed with his latest, The American Revolution! So many outstanding narrators, Peter Coyote, Laura Linney, and many others.

Surprisingly to me is how little I remembered from school or was maybe not even taught about my Canadian history that this series spends a great deal discussing. And how interconnected our waterways are with the American ones was fascinating.

I am Joe Frazier.

Really enjoyable documentary about a true all time great who definitely wasn't in Ali's shadow.

That he was world heavyweight king in the 70's, which was the heyday for the big boys say's it all.

A charismatic, great to watch warrior and a not too bad as a singer either

Just finished watching Breaking Bad for the first time - missed it on the original run. The central premise is quite a critique of the US, and very foreign to much of the developed world, but it made for a good story.

Looking forward to following up with Better Call Saul.

We are also in the last season of Ozark, which has been interesting.
