My wife and I have been enjoying Only Murders in the Building. We are not really into murder mysteries, but there is a good dose of comedy and not much gore. It has a star-studded cast.

First season is now on regular broadcast TV, so we are 3 episodes in. Love it so far.

Right now we are watching Goliath on Prime. Not a massive BBT fan, but he’s very good in this.

Just finished Murder at the End of the World. It is a pretty good murder mystery in a modern context. If you like Brit Marling's work (The OA, Another Earth) I recommend this one too.

Just finished watching Red Rocket on Amazon; a pretty raunchy comedy. Getting pop and snacks ready for the awesome Rolex 24 at Daytona. Love the beginning of racing season!

I've been re-watching Elementary and recently started watching Murdoch Mysteries. This recent time travel thread has put an itch somewhere special to rewatch star trek, starting with the original series!

I've been re-watching Elementary and recently started watching Murdoch Mysteries. This reason time travel thread has put an itch somewhere special to rewatch star trek, starting with the original series!

I remember watching the original star trek series when they came out, sort of interesting but nowhere near as good as the SF books I was reading at the time though you just had to laugh at the James T Kirk moralising monologues that every episode had juxtaposed to Spock's sappy agreements.
Whilst most of this TV stuff was very tame to mediocre I preferred the same period Lost in Space with Dr Zachary's off the cuff non scripted banter.
SF TV series were few and far between, later with Space 1999 and Battlestar Galactica with their comic 70's take on popular SF that might appeal to the masses.
One bright star for me that emerged much much later wasn't the Star Trek movies of later years ( never liked any of them ) which seemed true to the original TV series but the reimagined Battlestar Galactica movie and subsequent series and the couple of spinoffs such as Caprica, truly excellent made for the masses SF.
Highly recommend watching that if you haven't.

Hmmm did I mention The Expanse? 😁

I watched most of the expanse, but with small children at home there are definitely parts that aren't appropriate so I haven't finished it. Same thing happened with Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. (Although I did finish those).

I did watch the old cheesy Battlestar while growing up- I've (unfortunately) never watched the more recent reboot, but been told to do so dozens of times. Perhaps I finally should do that.

RE: TOS, a lot of my favorite science fiction (Harsh Mistress, Left Hand, Lord of Light (anything Zelazny really), Dune- Babel-17... Ubik- was written either just before or during the same time (or right after) TOS aired. Although I watched re-runs of TOS as child, and picked up many of these science fiction books in my young teen years or later.

Recently finished watching “The Bear” and also “Beef”. Both very good. 👍
Now we’re working our way through “Slow Horses”, about halfway through season 3.

Latest True Detective season - good so far.

Also on the 3rds season of Tin Star, with Tim Roth - strange all around, but entertaining.

Mr. and Mrs Smith. I remember watching the original very short lived Mr and Mrs Smith in the 90's - Scott Bakula and Mario Bello starred in that one. Not sure the subsequent movie in 2005 or this series are connected to that one, as there are some major plot differences.

This new series is really good so far! Highly recommended.
