Just got the call for my Snoopy, so that'll be it for this year.
You've peaked early...........I bet you can't help yourself, and get something else later in the year!

You have many watches I would trade a kidney for
I can get you a bunch of kidneys if you’ll do the legwork of trading them for watches.

How much does a kidney go for these days? I am curious about which watches actually cost a kidney. Asking for a friend.

My only real plans are to work on projects. I have too many at the moment, so hunting down parts will be a big part of this upcoming year.

Well, I already bought a watch last month, going to buy another one this month, maybe a second, all very small brands. Definitely going to get a Baltic Aquascaphe (blue gilt) and going to track down Halios Fairwind (grey diver's bezel insert) I want.

I need to service a Glycine Airman 2000 and want to get my 2254.50 serviced. I'm either going to find a buyer for my -69ST Speedmaster and replace it with a modern version of it or put some money into it and make me comfortable wearing it.

There is also a specific 41.5mm Aqua Terra I'd like, the blue teak with the polished date window at 3 o'clock and cal. 8500. I might go through and find some other watches in my collection that are languishing.
~
Other ones I'm considering are a titanium Mido Ocean Star 200 M026.430.44.061.00, but I'm not sure I like what I read about the cal. 80 movement: plastic parts or not, poor reliability, poor accuracy, etc. I also would really like to get a Squale Matic Chocolate Mesh MATICXSD.ME22. I still kind of want an electric blue Seamaster, maybe.

Hmm this is a great thread for inspiration!
Relatively new to the start of my journey so I anticipate many changes over the season but currently top of mind.

1. I've got a friend picking up a fashion piece for me this week. Moonswatch - Full Moon.

2. First big purchase of the year will likely be a Sinn. Something rugged, simple and reliable for a daily wear work watch. I quite like the 556 MOP although the 856 B-Uhr also has my attention.

3. I'm currently in the process of quitting smoking(should significantly increase my watch purchasing power) so to commemorate the occasion I'll be searching for an Omega Suveran. Although significantly more research needs to occur.

4. I'm going to try not and get ahead of myself so I'll leave this blank spot for the likely occurrence of some inevitable infatuation.

Hoping to sell a couple JLCs and a Hamilton Chrono--matic (shameless plus for the FS forum ; ), and perhaps find a project 1655.

For me hopefully fewer purchases and some increased contentment with the current lineup. Sounds simple...

I have been looking for something very minimalistic, well made, screwback, manual wind, no date, angular case, unpolished. I had been looking at vacherons for months, but I ended up with a great IWC 810 with cal89. It actually has the final version of the cal 89 with 19 jewels. I had been watching this reference for a while and it is difficult to find them with a sharp case. Not sure what to get next, but I will be enjoying my vintage Tudor ranger when it comes back from True Patina after getting the hands redone and my new to me domino’s air king when it comes back from rolliworks.

My goals for 2025:

1. Sell duplicates
2. Decide if watches in collection worth cost of servicing. If not, sell
3. Stop buying bargain lower end watches that quickly end up in category 1 or 2
4. Wish list if they come up:
A. Cursive Gold Geneve no date
B, nice 18k gold Connie
C. Vintage Grand Seiko 44
5. Sort through pocket watch collection as above
6. Avoid discovery of new currently unknown grail(s).

I’m aiming to decide whether to sell my motorcycle and use the proceeds for another Omega Seamaster. Decision, decisions.

Being a bottom feeder, I continue to look for “fixer-uppers” that are collectible, that I can buy at bargain basement prices (or free), that I can restore to former glory. Like this one I paid $50.00 (Cdn.) for.

Or this one which was offered to me for free as part of a bundle of 3 that I paid $150.00 for.

And this one which was part of that bundle of 3.

Since I missed almost all my objectives for 2024, I'll keep it simple for 2025: Sell more than buying.
